    CSSG dedicated 2015 as the ?Year of Women' and are trying to change the lives of underprivileged girls by providing them with the education and training required to become successful chefs. There are about 53 girls that are a part of their program currently and more than 200 are in waiting.

    Experts from the food industry graced the occasion. Chef Ritu Dalmia interacted with the girls and also proposed to take some of them under her guidance. Chef Sabyasachi Gorai recruited five girls. Chef Jatin Malik, whose restaurant Tres has already hired two of them in the past, was also present and is looking forward to mentor more girls.

    From a number of NGOs across the city like Aman Biradari and Maitri, young girls with a desire to learn, were provided paid culinary training at Institute of Hotel Management (Pusa Road) and apprenticeship in established kitchens. Today, they demonstrate grit and motivation and have a great amount of self-confidence.

    The response from the industry has been overwhelming. L'Opera, Avanti Mathur's Sweet Nothings, Jaya Kochar's Cakewalk and others were more than willing to mentor and help these girls transform their hopes and dreams into reality.

    Earlier in the day, the girls visited an organic farm in Delhi along with the Michelin chefs to source fresh produce and ingredients as well as understand farming techniques. The chefs took the girls through the entire process of what kind of ingredients one should look for, how to check for quality, how the fresh produce should be picked and basic hygiene practices that must be followed before traveling to The Leela Palace in New Delhi for a cookout.
