Ingredients of Chakhle's Shami Kebab

  • 1/2 kg keema
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 flower javitri(mace)
  • 1 stick cinnamon
  • 2-3 cloves
  • 1 brown cardamom
  • 2 green cardamom
  • 5-7 black peppercorns
  • 1/2 cup channa dal
  • Salt, to taste
  • 3 bay leaves
  • Red chili powder, to taste
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 green chilli, chopped
  • 2 Tbsp oil, to shallow fry

How to Make Chakhle's Shami Kebab

  1. In a pressure cooker add keema, water, javitri, cinnamon, cloves, brown cardamom, green cardamom, black peppercorns, channa dal, salt, bay leaves, red chili powder.
  2. Boil it for 3 whistles. Now add onions, green chilli. Mix it well.
  3. Make round shaped medium sized patties.
  4. In a pan add oil. Shallow fry the kebabs from both sides till a brown crust is achieved.
  5. Serve with onion rings and green chutney.
