How to Make Chocolate Volcano Dessert
Prepare the Chocolate Shell
1.
Melt the chopped chocolate using a double boiler or microwave.
2.
Once melted and smooth, let it cool slightly.
3.
Pour the melted chocolate into 4 half- sphere silicone molds, rotating each mold to coat evenly.
4.
Place the molds in the fridge to set for 15-20 mins, until the chocolate is firm.
5.
Once set, gently remove the chocolate domes from the molds and set them aside in a cool place.
Make the Brownie Filling
1.
Preheat the oven to 175 degree celsius. Grease and line an 8*8-inch baking pan.
2.
In a bowl, combine melted butter, sugar, and vanilla extract. Whisk in the eggs until smooth.
3.
Sift in the flour, cocoa powder, salt, and baking powder. Gently fold until just combined.
4.
Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out with a few moist crumbs.
5.
Allow the brownie to cool, then cut into small pieces that will fit inside the chocolate dome.
Assemble the Chocolate Volcano
1.
Place a small brownie piece and a scoop of vanilla ice cream inside one half of the chocolate dome.
2.
Carefully place the second half over it, sealing the brownie and ice cream inside.
Prepare the Warm Chocolate Sauce
1.
In a small saucepan, heat the heavy cream until it’s steaming (don’t boil)
2.
Pour the hot cream over the chopped chocolate and let it sit for 1 minute.
3.
Stir until smooth and glossy, then add the butter for extra shine.
Serving the Chocolate Volcano
1.
Place the chocolate ball on a serving table.
2.
At the table, Pir the warm chocolate sauce over the chocolate ball. The sauce will melt the dome, revealing the brownie and ice cream inside for a dramatic effect.
3.
Serve immediately and enjoy!
