In the kitchen, we often have leftover cooking oil. It shouldn't be poured down the drain as it could damage plumbing. So what to do with it? Here are 5 ways to dispose of oil.

Pour your used cooking oil into a disposable container and let it cool completely. Once done, cover it with a lid and throw it in the garbage.

Pour the used cooking oil into ice trays and freeze until solid. Once it comes out in one piece, it is ready to be thrown in the trash.

Mix small amounts of used cooking oil with other compost materials if you use it to cook a plant-based meal. Your garden bugs and worms will thank you.

Mix equal parts of water and used oil and spray it on the leaves of the plants. This will make sure bugs stay away and your plants are lush and green.
