Motion sickness happens when the movement you see differs from what your inner ear senses. Here are some food tips to help prevent and manage that nauseous feeling.

Stick to low-calorie meals or light snacks the evening before you travel. Avoid large, greasy meals, as they can make you feel worse.

If you had a heavy meal before travelling, eat small amounts of saunf (fennel seeds) and mishri (sugar crystals) to aid digestion.

Drink water regularly to stay hydrated. Minimise your intake of alcohol and caffeinated drinks, as they can exacerbate dehydration.

Keep some ajwain (carom seeds) in your mouth for a while. Chew and swallow with water to ease discomfort.
