Use a large pot with ample water to prevent pasta from sticking and ensure even cooking. Use at least 4-6 litres of water per 500 grams of pasta.

Add a generous amount of salt to the boiling water to increase the pasta's flavour. Use around 1-2 tablespoons (15-30 grams) of salt per 4 litres of water.

Make sure the water is boiling adequately before adding the pasta. Adding it too soon can cause uneven cooking and a mushy texture.

Follow the package instructions and check the pasta a few minutes before the stated time. Make sure to note that pasta is not too soft but firm to bite.

Save a cup of pasta water before draining. It helps adjust the sauce's consistency, and while cooking makes it blend better with the pasta.

After cooking pasta, avoid rinsing it as it removes the starch that helps the sauce stick to it. Only rinse it if you are making a cold pasta salad.
