Love matar? Then try this Degi Matar Masala recipe! It is a flavourful North Indian curry that pairs perfectly with roti or steamed rice. Here's how you can make this at home.

1 cup fresh green peas
2 tsp cumin seeds
2 tsp saunf
2 cloves
1-inch cinnamon stick
2 green cardamoms
6-7 black peppercorns
2 medium onions
2 tbsp curd
2 green chillies

1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
2 tbsp coriander leaves
½ tsp haldi
1 tsp Kashmiri red chilli powder
Salt
Water
Kasuri Methi
2-3 tbsp oil

Dry roast cumin, saunf, cloves, cinnamon, cardamom, and black pepper. After cooling, grind them into a fine powder. Set aside.

In a kadhai, heat some oil and fry sliced onions until golden brown. Now blend these fried onions with curd, coriander, and green chillies and make a paste.

In the same oil, add ginger-garlic paste and fresh peas. Add 1 ½ tbsp of the blended masala along with haldi and chilli powder.

Add the prepared gravy paste to the pan and mix. Add salt and water. Cover it and cook for 4-5 minutes until the peas are tender.

Sprinkle some roasted Kasuri methi and mix. Cook for another minute on simmer. Transfer it to a bowl and serve hot!
