Plum cake is a festive delight, perfect for Christmas. Packed with dried fruits and warm spices, this dessert is super easy to make. Follow these steps to bake your own!

1 cup dried fruits, 2 tbsp rum, 3/4 cup butter, 1 cup sugar, 3 eggs, 1 tsp vanilla, 2 cups maida, 2 tsp baking powder, 1 tsp cinnamon, 1/2 cup nuts

Begin by soaking chopped dried fruits in rum or orange juice for 24 hours or overnight to achieve maximum flavour.

Cream butter and sugar until fluffy, then mix in eggs, vanilla extract, and flour with baking powder, cinnamon, and nutmeg.

Fold the soaked dried fruits and chopped nuts into the batter gently. Ensure even distribution for best results.

Grease a baking pan, line it with parchment paper, and pour the batter evenly into the pan. Smooth the top for a perfect bake.

Bake in a preheated oven at 160 degrees C for 60-70 mins or until a toothpick comes out clean. Slice and enjoy with tea or coffee!
