KHICHDI RECIPE

Ingredients

Salt as per taste

a pinch of Hing

¼ tsp Turmeric Powder

1 tsp Garam Masala

1 tsp Cumin Seeds

2 Green Chillies

Ingredients

1 tsp Ghee

½ cup Peas

1 Carrot, grated

¼ cup Moong Dal

½ cup Rice

Soak rice and moong dal together for about one hour.

Step 1

In a pressure cooker, saute hing and cumin seeds in ghee. Once they crackle, add green chillies.

Step 2

Add grated carrots and peas. 

Step 3

Add rice and dal, salt, garam masala and turmeric powder. Saute for 2-3 minutes.

Step 4

Add water as per required consistency. Cook upto 2 whistles.

Step 5

Serve hot with dahi or achaar.
