Honey chilli paneer is one of those Indo-Chinese appetisers that never goes out of style. Soft paneer cubes are cooked in a mix of mild spices and sauces that bring all the right heat and flavour.

Honey chilli paneer is basically the paneer twist on the classic honey chilli potato . The balance of sweet and spicy is what makes this dish a total crowd-pleaser.

2 tsp Honey
1 tbsp Red chilli flakes
250 grams of Paneer
4 tbsp Oil
2 Onions
2 Green capsicums
Salt to taste
5-6 Garlic cloves, chopped
1 tsp Ginger paste
Cornflour/corn starch mixed with 4 tbsp water 3 tablespoons
2 tsp Vinegar

Chop the capsicum into thick strips and slice the onion into chunky pieces.

Heat oil in a non-stick wok. Cut the paneer into thick rectangular pieces.

Toss in the onion, capsicum and salt. Sauté everything for 2-3 minutes on high heat. Move it all to a bowl and keep aside.

In the same wok, heat a bit more oil. Add chopped garlic and ginger paste. Let that sizzle, then pour in the sweet chilli sauce, chilli paste and a pinch of salt. Mix it all well.

Pour in a half cup of water and stir it. Add the cornflour mix and cook it until the sauce thickens slightly.

Now, gently add the paneer pieces to the sauce. Sprinkle with chilli flakes, pour honey, & mix lightly. Add vinegar and salt. Toss in the sautéed onions and capsicum.

Top off your honey chilli paneer with the rest of the honey. Serve it hot and let everyone dig into this ultimate sweet-spicy snack.
