How To Make Biryani With Leftover Chicken Curry

Don't let last night's leftover chicken curry go to waste. Here's a genius biryani recipe - perfect for making a sumptuous lunch the next day.

Ingredients

- 1 bowl chicken curry
- 2 cups rice 
- 1 large onion 
- 1 large tomato 
- 1/2 cup curd 
- 4-5 green chillies 
- 2 tbsp oil

Spices

-salt
-red chilli powder
-haldi
-coriander powder
-garam masala 
-cloves
-green and black cardamom
-peppercorns
-bay leaf

Step 1

Heat oil in a pressure cooker. Add cloves, cardamoms, black pepper, and bay leaf. Let them sizzle to release aroma.

Step 2 

Add chopped onion and cook till golden brown. Add sliced tomato and green chillies. Cook till soft.

Add haldi, red chilli powder, coriander powder, garam masala, and salt. Mix well with curd for a rich base.

Pour in the leftover chicken curry or butter chicken. Let it simmer for a few minutes.

Add washed rice to the mix. Pour water as needed. Stir gently. Close the lid and cook for 2 whistles on medium heat.
