Masoor dal dosa is a nutritious twist on the classic dosa, packed with protein and flavour. This easy recipe lets you make this wholesome dish right in your kitchen.

2 cups masoor dal, 1 cup rice, 1/2-inch ginger, 1 tsp fenugreek seeds, 2-3 green chillies, 2 tbsp oil, a pinch of hing, salt.
Soak the masoor dal and rice in water for about 4-5 hours. This process softens the grains, making them easier to blend into a batter.

Once soaked, drain the water and blend the dal and rice into a thick batter. Add small amounts of water to reach a smooth consistency.

Let the batter ferment for 8 hours or overnight. This step is crucial for achieving the light texture that makes dosa crispy and flavourful.

After fermentation, mix in salt, fenugreek seeds, hing, ginger, and green chillies. These will help enhance the flavour of the dosa.

Heat a pan, pour oil, spread a ladle of batter in a circular motion, and cook until the dosa is crisp. Serve hot with chutney or sambar.
