How To Make South-Indian Masala Uttapam

3 Boiled potatoes
1 tsp Chana dal, Urad dal
6 Curry leaves
2 Green chillies
1 tsp Ginger
2 Onions
1 Tomato
1 tsp Mustard seeds
1/2 tsp Haldi
1/2 tsp Red chilli powder
Pinch of hing
Batter

Step 1

Heat 2 tablespoons of oil in a pan, add chana dal, urad dal and mustard seeds and let it splutter.

Add asafoetida, ginger, green chillies, and onion and saute. Add curry leaves, tomato, and mashed potatoes and fry

Add turmeric, red chilli and salt. Fry this mixture for a few seconds. Add green coriander and turn off the flame.

Step 4

Heat the dosa tawa, and grease it with oil. Spread the batter with a ladle and cook for a few seconds.

Step 5

Pour the prepared potato mixture over it and spread to layer it. Roast from the other side as well. Your masala uttapam is ready!
