How To Make Winter-Perfect Bajra Khichdi

Ingredients:

2 cups bajra, 1 cup moong dal, 1 tsp salt, 2 Tbsp ghee, 1/8 tsp asafoetida (hing), 1 tsp cumin, 2 tsp coriander powder, 1 tsp garam masala, 1 tsp chilli powder

Step-1

Wash the bajra thoroughly, drain, and lightly pound it. Toss to remove the husk and repeat until most of the husk is gone.

Step-2

Combine the bajra and moong dal with enough water to create a soft, paste-like consistency. Pressure cook the mixture for 4 whistles to ensure it's tender.

Heat the ghee in a pan and toss in cumin seeds, hing, coriander powder, garam masala, and chilli powder.

Step-4

Once the cumin seeds start crackling, pour in the bajra mixture. Let it simmer for 2-3 minutes, then serve it warm.
