How To Remove Pesticides From Vegetables

Vegetables are packed with nutrients which are vital for our body. But these days, we can fall prey to chemically-treated produce. Here are 5 ways to remove pesticides from it.

1. Wash

Wash your veggies properly under cold water. This would remove most of the pesticide residues. Pay extra care to tomatoes and brinjal as they have crevices.

2. Vinegar Soak

Take three parts water and one part vinegar, and soak your veggies in it. This solution will remove pesticide residues and make your veggies clean and fresh.

3. Baking Soda

Make a baking soda, lemon juice and water solution, and spray it over your veggies. After a few minutes, wash your produce and it will be ready to consume.

4. Hot Water

Veggies like cabbage and potato may have pesticides in crevices even after getting treated in a solution. Soak them in hot water to make them pesticide-free.

5. Peel

If you are sceptical of the cleaning solutions, remove the peel off the vegetables. This would effectively remove all the chemicals, even from their folds.
