The sliced/chopped bananas are coated in a lightly sweetened flour batter and fried to crisp golden perfection. Here's a step-by-step recipe for Kerala-style banana fritters:

Gradually add water to the mixture and whisk until you get a smooth, thick batter that is free of lumps. Cover and allow the batter to rest for 5-10 minutes.

Choose ripe but firm Nendran bananas. Peel and slice them lengthwise into thin strips. You can further chop the slices into smaller pieces too or keep them long.

Heat coconut oil in a deep pan over medium heat. Dip the banana pieces into the batter, ensuring they are evenly coated.

Fry them in small batches until the fritters are golden brown and crispy on all sides. Enjoy the Pazham Pori with a cup of chai or coffee.
