Kheer makes for a delicious dessert for any occasion. This Janmashtami, try this unique makhana kheer to sweeten your celebrations. Here's how you can make it:

To begin, you need to roast the makhana in a pan along with cashew nuts and ghee for about 3-4 minutes. Season with rock salt.

Once the makhana and cashew nuts have cooled down, take 3/4th of the mixture and grind it in a blender with green cardamom.

In a kadhai, boil 3 cups of milk. Once it is about to boil, reduce the heat and let it simmer. Keep stirring in between to prevent sticking.

Add sugar to taste, followed by the ground makhana mixture, and give the milk a good stir. Then, add the remaining makhana and cashew nuts.

Garnish your makhana kheer with chopped dry fruits. Choose from almonds, cashew nuts, walnuts, or any other of your choice.
