Ingredients:
1 cup rice flour
1/4 cup water
Pinch of salt
1/2 cup grated coconut
1/4 cup jaggery (or sugar)
1/4 teaspoon cardamom powder
1 tablespoon ghee

Combine rice flour, water, and a pinch of salt in a bowl. Knead until smooth and elastic.

In a separate bowl, combine grated coconut, jaggery (or sugar), cardamom powder, and ghee. Mix well until the ingredients are evenly combined.

Roll out small portions into a thin circle. Place the filling in the centre, bring the sides together and close to form a small pouch.

Place the modaks in a steamer basket and steam for 10-12 minutes, or until the modaks are cooked through and slightly puffed up.

Serve the modaks with a dollop of ghee or a drizzle of coconut milk and saffron.
