If you love mutton curry, try making this recipe at home. It includes your pantry staples and makes for a comforting meal, served with roti or rice.

500g mutton (bone-in pieces)
2 onions, finely chopped
2 tomatoes pureed
1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
2 green chillies, slit
1 cup yoghurt
2 tbsp ghee
1 tsp cumin seeds

2-3 cloves
1-inch cinnamon
2 tsp red chilli powder
1 tsp turmeric powder
2 tsp coriander powder
1 tsp garam masala
Salt
Coriander leaves for garnish
1 bay leaf

Heat oil in a pressure cooker. Add cumin seeds, bay leaf, cloves, and cinnamon. Once aromatic, add onions and cook until golden brown.

Add ginger-garlic paste, green chilies, and saute. Add in tomato puree, turmeric, chilli powder, coriander powder and salt. Cook until oil separates.

Add mutton pieces and mix well with the masala. Saute for 5-7 minutes, then add yoghurt and cook for another 5 minutes.

In the cooker, add 2 cups of water. Cover and pressure cook for 3-4 whistles or slow cook for 45-50 minutes until the meat is tender.

Sprinkle some garam masala, mix well, and let it rest for a few minutes. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve hot with rice or roti.
