Too Much Oatmeal Good Or Bad?

To many health-freaks, oatmeal comes as the soul choice in mind when it comes to breakfast given its nutrient-rich properties. However, too much of it can have side effects

Although Oatmeal is power-packed with vitamins and minerals, too much of it can cause gas and bloating

If you are not used to eating oatmeal, then begin with a small amount of consumption as your body is not used to the bran it contains. Too much of it can lead to abdominal cramps

A little helping of oats/oatmeal is enough to keep you full for a long time, but it can lead to weight gain if eaten in excess daily

Although Oats contain low sugar, many people prefer their oatmeal to be sweet. Addition of a sugary food product or fructose syrup/s may backfire and spike your sugar intake

Oats contain a chemical called purines, although low in content. If consumed too much, purines may hike uric acid levels. This may result in gout. Hence avoid excess oatmeal intake
