Accidentally over-salted your dish? Don't worry! Here are easy, effective ways to balance out the saltiness and save your meal.

Toss in a few raw potato slices. They absorb excess salt as they cook, making your dish less salty without altering flavour much.

Add a splash of cream, milk, or yoghurt. Dairy helps neutralize saltiness and adds a creamy texture to soups and sauces.

Sprinkle a small amount of sugar. This counteracts saltiness and balances flavours, but be cautious not to overpower the dish with sweetness.

Mix in a bit of vinegar or lemon juice. The acidity cuts through saltiness and brightens up flavours, especially in sauces and dressings.

If possible, add extra water or broth. This spreads out the salt concentration, making the dish less salty without changing the recipe drastically.
