Rainy season calls for chai, making us have multiple servings throughout the day. That's where most of us go wrong. Here're some mistakes one must avoid while drinking tea. 

1. Going Overboard

Tea contains tannins, which if taken in excess, may lead to dehydration and disrupt the body's ability to absorb iron.

2. Adding too much salt

Chai masala usually contains heating spices, which as per Ayurveda, may disrupt the vata, pitta, and kapha balance in the body.

3. Having it empty stomach

Having tea the first thing early in the morning may lead to indigestion, bloating, constipation, and other gut problems.

4. Boiling for long

Boiling tea for too long not only makes the beverage bitter but also produces an excessive amount of caffeine.

5. Having tea after meal

This is not a great practice as tea leaves are acidic and can affect the digestion process and protein absorption in the body.
