Wine can spoil over time, but how can you tell when it's no longer good to drink? Here are three easy ways to check if your wine has gone bad.

If your wine looks cloudy or has a weird film floating around, it may be spoiled. A great wine will have a clear appearance.

A vinegar or medicinal smell indicates spoilage. If it smells off, it's best to discard the wine. Fresh wine has a clear, pleasant odour.

Still not convinced? Take a sip! If you taste something funky, like vinegar, discard the bottle. If it tastes smooth and balanced, it's good.

Bubbles in wine could mean it's begun fermenting and is no longer safe to drink. In this case, it's best to avoid drinking it.

A wet or mouldy cork might signal exposure to air, which can spoil the wine. A dry cork is usually a good sign.
