Jam is one of those classic spreads that everyone loves. Whether it's on toast, pancakes, or just eaten by the spoonful, apple jam is a must-try. Want to make your own at home? Here are some simple tips to get you there!

Start by washing your apples under running water. Once they're clean, wipe them dry. Peel off the skin and chop them into small pieces.

Throw the chopped apples into a pan & cook them until they're nice & soft. Once softened, mash the apples with a masher. If you prefer, you can let them cool and blend them in a mixer grinder for a smoother texture.

Once the apples are mashed, it's time to sweeten them up! Add sugar to the mix and stir until it's completely dissolved.

For that perfect flavour, add a pinch of cinnamon, cardamom powder, and a bit of red food colouring. Stir everything until the jam thickens.

Now, turn off the heat and add a dash of lemon juice. The juice acts as a natural preservative, so it's key!

Let your jam cool down, then transfer it into a clean jar. Pop it in the fridge, and it'll last for about 5-6 months.
