Curd is a staple food in Indian households. Making curd at home is easy if processed properly. Here we come up with some useful tips to set curd perfectly at home.

Use whole-fat milk, or standard pasteurized milk, especially in winter. Boil the milk on a medium flame for 10 to 15 mins as it will make the curd thicker.

Remove the milk from the stove and let it cool down to room temperature. Ensure the milk is lukewarm and not too cold.

All you need to do is transfer milk from one pot to another pot. Do this 4 to 5 times till the milk becomes frothy.

Use an earthen pot to set curd. The mud-based container fastens the milk fermentation process.

Add culture to the milk, mix it well and wrap the container with a thick piece of cloth. Keep it in a warm place.

It is important to initiate the fermentation process, after you keep it away to make curd, don't touch and move it till the curd is set.
