Banana chips are a beloved South Indian snack. If you want to make this snack at home, you've got to get a few things right. Here are some tips to help you make banana chips.

The key to crispy banana chips is using firm, unripe bananas. They have lower sugar content, which keeps the chips crunchy instead of soft.

Thin slices = crispy chips. But here's the catch: they need to be evenly sliced. This ensures they cook at the same speed.

Soak the banana slices in salted water for a few minutes. This removes excess starch and keeps the chips from clumping together while frying.

Once soaked, drain the water and spread the slices on a cloth. Pat them dry-this step is a lifesaver because it stops the oil from splattering while frying.

Here's the trick: don't overcrowd the pan. Add a few slices at a time & fry on low to medium heat. This keeps the chips perfectly crispy without burning.

Once fried, it's time for the seasoning. Toss the chips with salt, black pepper, red chilli powder, or chaat masala if you're feeling fancy.
