How To Make Masala Chicken Skewers In Air Fryer

This yummy chicken can be served as an appetiser or used as a filling for wraps and rolls. Here's how to cook chicken skewers in an air fryer with Indian flavours:

INGREDIENTS

250 grams boneless chicken cubes
1 tbsp ginger garlic paste
1/2 cup hung curds
½ tsp fennel powder
1/4 tsp red chilli powder
2 tsp tikka/tandoori masala

1 tbsp chopped mint leaves
Salt to taste
1 green capsicum, cubed
1 onion, cubed
Oil for brushing
1 tbsp lemon juice

INGREDIENTS

STEP 1

Wash the chicken cubes and wipe them dry. Transfer them to a large bowl. Start by adding 1 ½ tsp salt (or to taste) followed by all the powdered masalas listed.

Mix well with your hands and add ginger garlic paste. Combine thoroughly before adding hung curds and chopped mint leaves. Let the chicken marinate for 2 hours.

The longer you marinate, the juicier the chicken will be. Grease the skewers with little oil. Start piercing the cubed capsicum, marinated chicken pieces and onion.

Continue the sequence until your skewers are full but leave some space at either end. Ensure each element is tightly packed next to the others beside it.

STEP 5

Keeping the pieces close together retains the natural moisture and juices. If there's space between the chicken and capsicum/onion, chances are they will turn dry.

Grease the air fryer tray or line it with parchment paper. Brush all the skewers with a little oil and then air fry them at 190 degrees Celsius for 10 minutes.

STEP 7

Later, flip and lightly grease them again. Air fry for 5 minutes at the same temperature. Open and check if you need to keep it for 5 more minutes.

Once done, squeeze lemon juice on top of the masala chicken skewers and enjoy! Pair with mint mayonnaise or hari chutney.
