Boiled potatoes make for many tasty dishes - from mashed potatoes to curries. But cooking them right ensures the perfect texture for every dish. Here are 5 easy ways to do it.

Put the potatoes in a pot and add water and salt. Boil until they feel fork-tender, then drain. Peeling after boiling makes it easier to remove the skin.

Place whole or chopped potatoes in a pressure cooker with water. Cook for 2-3 whistles, then release the steam naturally. This hack is quick and efficient.

In a microwave-safe bowl, put pierced potatoes with water and cover. Microwave on high level for 5-7 minutes but check on them halfway through.

Place potatoes in a steamer basket over boiling water. Cover and steam for 15-20 minutes until soft. This method preserves nutrients and enhances flavour.
