If you are looking for a perfect rainy-day snack, then dal vada should be your go-to. It is spicy and crunchy, and tastes amazing with tea! Here's how you can make it at home:

Soak chana dal for at least 3-4 hours. This will ensure the dal is soft, making it easier to grind and giving the vada a perfect texture.

Use little water while grinding chana dal to make a coarse paste. This will ensure a coarse texture. Avoid making the paste too thin so that the vadas are crunchy.

Use freshly chopped onions, green chillies, ginger, curry leaves, and coriander to make the dal paste. This will amp up the flavour of your vadas.

Heat oil to medium-high. The oil should be hot enough to sizzle and raise the batter to the surface. This will make vadas cook evenly and become crispy.

Avoid overcrowding the pan while frying. Fry in small batches to cook them evenly. Keep flipping them in intervals to get a beautiful golden-brown colour.
