Bored of regular rasam? Give it an interesting twist by making amla rasam that is light, tangy, and healthy, making it your perfect winter companion. Here's an easy recipe to try.

4-5 amla, 1 tomato, 2 green chillies, 2 cups water, 1/5 tsp rasam powder, 1/8 tsp haldi, salt, 1/3 cup toor dal, 1 tsp sugar, coriander leaves, curry leaves

Begin by adding amla, tomato, green chillies, curry leaves, and water to a small pot. Next, add rasam powder, haldi, and salt.

Place the pot over a low flame and allow it to cook for 10 minutes. Next, take cooked toor dal, mash it well and add some water.

Add the mashed dal to the rasam pot. Add sugar or jaggery powder, more rasam powder, and coriander leaves with stem.

Before the rasam starts to boil, prepare the temper. Take a tadka pan and add the ingredients for the temper.

Once the rasam starts to froth, switch off the heat. Add the tempering and mix well. Serve it hot with rice or your favourite salad.
