Gud ka halwa is a classic dessert in Punjabi households during winter, known for its unique taste and and vibrant orange hue. Here's a simple recipe to make this treat at home.

1 1/2 cups suji, 3/4 cup gud, 3-4 saffron strands, 1 tsp fennel seeds, 2 cups water, 3 tbsp ghee, 1/2 cup milk, almonds, raisins, cashew nuts.

Start by adding ghee in a pan. Add suji and roast for a few minutes. Add fennel seeds and cook until they crackle.

Mix the roasted suji well and cook for a few more minutes. Then, turn off the flame.

To prepare the gud syrup, heat water in a separate pan. Once it boils, add gud and let it dissolve. Allow it to simmer.

Pour the gud syrup into the roasted suji. Cook on a low flame for 3-4 minutes. Add saffron strands and milk.

When the mixture thickens, stir in almonds, raisins, and cashew nuts. Cook for a few more minutes, then serve hot!
