Kuttu puri is a beloved dish during fasting, particularly on Mahashivratri. These crispy, crunchy puris, made from buckwheat flour (kuttu ka atta), pair perfectly with potato curry.

To help you out, we have gathered some expert tips to make these tasty puris with ease. Follow these steps for the perfect Kuttu puri.

1. Prepare The Dough

Start by taking 2 cups of Kuttu ka atta in a large, deep bowl. Add boiled potatoes to the flour and mix well using a spatula.

2. Knead It Well

Now, knead the dough into a smooth texture by adding rock salt and the required water. Make sure the dough is not too sticky, as this could make it difficult to roll out the puris properly.

3. Rest Is Important

Cover the dough with a thin plastic sheet and let it rest for at least 30 minutes. This helps the dough become more manageable and easier to shape.

4. Shape Your Poori

After the dough has rested, divide it into equal-sized small balls. Sprinkle some flour on the rolling board to prevent the puris from sticking and roll each ball into a round shape.

5. Deep Fry

Carefully slide poori into hot oil & fry it until it puffs up. Flip it over and fry both sides until golden & crispy. Once done, place the puris on paper towels to absorb the excess oil.

6. Serve It Right

Serve the freshly made Kuttu puris immediately with a delicious potato curry or other fasting dishes for a complete meal.
