Vanilla ice cream is a classic favourite, especially among kids. If you want to make this creamy dessert at home using just a few ingredients, follow these simple steps.

2 1/2 cups full-cream milk
1 tbsp custard powder
3/4 cup sugar
2 tsp vanilla essence
1 3/4 cups cream
Cherries or nuts for garnish

In a small bowl, mix custard powder and sugar with half a cup of milk until smooth.

Heat the remaining milk in a pan. When it starts boiling, add the custard mixture while stirring constantly. Let it come to a boil again.

When the mixture reaches room temperature, stir in the cream and vanilla essence. Pour everything into a container with a tight-fitting lid.

Freeze until almost set. Take it out, blend until smooth, and return it to the freezer in the same container.

For a softer texture, let it chill for about two hours after the final blending.
