1 cup quick-cooking oats or rolled oats
1 heaped tbsp besan or suji (semolina)
1 cup water
Salt to taste
1 green chilli, finely chopped
1 onion, chopped

1 capsicum, finely chopped
1 tomato, finely chopped
½ tsp cumin seeds
½ tsp grated ginger
A pinch of turmeric powder
1 tsp red chilli powder
2 tbsp coriander leaves, finely chopped

Grind the oats in a mixer-grinder until you get a fine powder.

Transfer the oats flour into a bowl and add all the remaining ingredients.

Whisk everything together with water to form a thick, smooth batter.

Heat 2 teaspoons of oil or ghee on a non-stick pan and spread it evenly.

Pour a ladleful of batter in the centre of the pan.

Using the back of the ladle, gently spread the batter in circular motions to form a round cheela.
