High-Protein Moong Dal Uttapam For Breakfast

Ingredients You Will Need

1 cup of moong dal soaked
Half-inch ginger
2 green chillies
Half cup mixed vegetables (carrot, capsicum, onion and tomato)
Salt to taste
Half tsp red chilli powder
A pinch of hing
Oil as per need

1: Start With The Batter

Add the soaked moong dal to a grinder and blend until you get a smooth paste. Scoop it into a bowl once done.

2: Mix In The Good Stuff

Add all the chopped vegetables and spices to the moong dal paste and give it a good stir. The goal is to get a dosa-like batter.

3. Fix The Texture If Needed

If the batter feels too thick, pour in a little water. If it turns too runny, add some sooji to bring it back to the right consistency.

4: Heat Things Up On The Tawa

Take a non-stick tawa, heat it, and drizzle some oil, ghee, or butter—whatever you prefer—on it.

5: Let It Cook On Both Sides

Once the base firms up, flip it and cook the other side. You are aiming for a golden-brown crisp on both sides.

6: Serve Fresh With A Dip

Take it off the heat and serve hot with your favourite chutney or just plain old ketchup. It is simple, tasty, and perfect for busy mornings.
