Homemade masala jeera drink is one of those summer staples. It is not just about quenching thirst; it also supports digestion. Want to try it at home? Here is how you can make it.

1. Cumin helps ease nausea, bloating and constipation naturally.
2. It is packed with antioxidants and essential vitamins that support immunity. This is exactly why cumin is such a regular in everyday Indian food.

1 cup cumin
700 litres water
Half teaspoon chaat masala
Half teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon black salt
1/2 cup sugar or jaggery
Juice of 2 lemons

Soak cumin seeds in water for 6 to 7 hours. Once done, switch on the gas and let the cumin cook in the same water.

After it comes to a boil, stir in the black pepper, chaat masala, salt, sugar and lemon juice.

Now, lower the flame and keep cooking it until the liquid is reduced to half. Switch off the gas and let it cool down.

Strain the mixture, pour it into a bottle and pop it into the fridge. It stays good for about a month.

1. To fix yourself a glass of this masala jeera drink, just drop a few ice cubes into a glass.
2. Add two tbsp of the prepared mix, crush a few mint leaves and stir them in. Pour cold water or soda on top, and you are sorted.
