Mint is a summer staple in every Indian kitchen, but keeping those leaves fresh can be tricky. Here are some easy ways to extend the shelf life of mint leaves.

Pluck the mint leaves from the stems and rinse them under running water. Fill a bowl with water & soak the leaves. Remember to change the water every few days.

Lay the mint sprigs on a damp paper towel, making sure they are spread out. Roll the paper towel along with the sprigs, place them in an airtight container, & store them in the fridge.

Rinse the mint leaves and place 5-6 leaves in each section of an ice cube tray. Fill with water and freeze. This keeps the mint fresh for a long time and makes it easy to use later.

Wash the mint leaves, separate them from the stems, and dry them in the sun. Once fully dried, store them in an airtight container for long-term use.

Separate the leaves from the sprigs, wash them well, and blend them into a puree. This can be used in buttermilk, raita, or chutney whenever needed.
