How to Make Aloo Methi Paratha

Aloo Methi Paratha is a tasty Indian flatbread filled with spiced potatoes and fresh fenugreek leaves. It is soft inside, crisp outside, and makes a comforting meal at any time of the day.

Ingredients:

2 cups whole wheat flour
2 boiled potatoes (mashed)
1 cup fresh methi leaves (finely chopped)
1 green chilli (chopped)
½ tsp turmeric powder
½ tsp red chilli powder
½ tsp garam masala
1 tsp cumin seeds
Salt to tasteWater for kneading
Oil or ghee for roasting

Prepare the Dough

Place flour in a bowl, add salt, and slowly add water to knead a soft dough. Keep it covered and let it rest so the parathas become soft.

Prepare the Stuffing

Mix mashed potatoes with chopped methi, green chilli, cumin seeds and spices. Combine everything well so the flavours blend evenly.

Roll and Stuff

Make small dough balls, flatten one, place the stuffing in the centre, and seal it gently. Roll it lightly into a round shape without letting the filling spill out.

Cook on Tawa

Heat a pan and cook the paratha on both sides with oil or ghee until golden spots appear. Press gently to cook it evenly and make it crisp.
