Cheese Garlic Toast on tawa is the kind of easy snack that works for breakfast or late-night cravings.

This no-oven cheese garlic toast comes together quickly on a pan and goes well on its own or with a hot bowl of soup or a fresh salad.

4 bread slices
2-3 cheese cubes
2 garlic cloves, finely chopped
¼ tsp oregano or mixed herbs
¼ tsp chilli flakes
¼ tsp black pepper powder

In a small bowl, mix 1 tbsp butter with the chopped garlic and all the dry seasonings. Stir it nicely until everything is combined.

Place the bread slices on a heated tawa and toast one side till it is just a little golden.

Flip the slices. Spread the garlic butter on the toasted side. Add the remaining butter around the edges so the other side gets cooked too. Keep the flame low.

Grate the cheese directly on top of the buttered side. Sprinkle some black pepper on the cheesy side.

Use a lid or bowl-like vessel to cover the tawa. Make sure it does not touch the cheese topping while it melts.

Let it cook on the lowest flame for 5-10 minutes. Make sure it does not burn. Serve hot
