How To Make Classic Aloo Tikki Burger

For Aloo Tikki:

3 medium boiled potatoes
1 small onion, finely chopped
1 green chilli, finely chopped
2 tbsp fresh coriander, chopped
1 tsp ginger-garlic paste
½ tsp red chilli powder
½ tsp garam masala
Salt to taste
2 tbsp cornflour or breadcrumbs
Oil for shallow frying

For Burger Assembly:

3 medium boiled potatoes
1 small onion, finely chopped
1 green chilli, finely chopped
2 tbsp fresh coriander, chopped
1 tsp ginger-garlic paste
½ tsp red chilli powder
½ tsp garam masala
Salt to taste
2 tbsp cornflour or breadcrumbs
Oil for shallow frying

Prepare the Tikki Mixture:

Mash the boiled potatoes in a bowl. Add onion, green chilli, coriander, ginger-garlic paste, spices, salt, and cornflour. Mix well until it forms a smooth dough.

Shape and Cook:

Divide the mixture into equal portions and shape into round patties. Heat oil in a pan and shallow fry the tikkis until golden and crisp on both sides. Keep aside.

Toast the Buns:

Slice the burger buns and lightly butter them. Toast on a pan until warm and lightly crisp.

Assemble the Burger:

Spread green chutney on the base bun, place lettuce, then the hot aloo tikki. Add onion, tomato, cheese (if using), and ketchup.

Serve

Cover with the top bun, press gently, and serve hot with extra chutney or fries.
