Khatte Meethe Aloo is a simple and tasty dish with a perfect balance of sweet and tangy flavours. You can make this for lunch.

10–12 baby potatoes (boiled and peeled)
2 tablespoons oil
1 teaspoon cumin seeds
1 teaspoon fennel seeds (saunf)
1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
1 teaspoon red chilli powder
2 tablespoons tamarind pulp
1–2 tablespoons jaggery or sugarSalt to taste
1/2 teaspoon garam masala
Fresh coriander leaves for garnish

Heat oil in a pan and add cumin seeds and fennel seeds. Let them crackle.
Add turmeric powder and red chilli powder, mix well on a low flame.

Add boiled baby potatoes and sauté for 2–3 minutes.

Add tamarind pulp, jaggery, and salt. Mix gently.

Cook on low heat for 5–7 minutes until the sauce thickens.
Sprinkle garam masala and mix once. Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot.
