1. Prep Your Ingredients

Rasam rice is all about that perfect mix of rice and tur dal. Make sure to wash them thoroughly and let them soak for about 15 mins. This helps in getting that perfect texture.

2. Soak Your Tamarind

For that tangy kick, soak tamarind in hot water. It's a small step, but it makes a huge difference in giving the dish that classic rasam flavour.

3. Shallots Or Onions

Traditionally, shallots are used but don't worry if you don't have them. Regular small onions work just as well!

4. Get Your Water Right

To make sure your rice and lentils cook just right, use four times the amount of water. This way, everything soaks in all the flavours perfectly.
