Clean the fish properly and then sprinkle salt, red chilli powder, haldi, and oil on top. Rub everything in so that the fish is nicely coated. Let it sit and marinate for about an hour.

While the fish is marinating, pop the coriander leaves, green chillies, and garlic cloves into a blender and grind them into a smooth paste.

Heat some oil in a pan and shallow fry the marinated fish pieces. Make sure you cook them evenly from both sides until they get that nice golden edge.

In a separate pan, add oil along with the green paste and a little water. Mix it up and let it cook for a few minutes until the raw smell goes away.

Now throw in the coriander powder, red chilli powder, salt, and tomato puree. If it looks too thick, add a splash of water & let the gravy simmer nicely.
