If you've ever craved that street-style tamatar ki chaat from Banaras but couldn't figure out how to make it, you're in for a treat.

With just a few ingredients, you can whip up this tangy, spicy delight right in your kitchen. Here's how you do it, step-by-step!

5 medium tomatoes (chopped), 4 medium-boiled potatoes, 2 tbsp desi ghee, 1 tsp cumin seeds, 1 tbsp grated ginger, ½ tsp poppy seeds

1 tsp green chillies, 2 tsp cashew powder, ½ tsp turmeric, 2 tsp red chilli powder, 1 tsp coriander powder, 1 tsp cumin powder

1 tsp black salt, Salt to taste 5 tbsp sugar, 1 tbsp tamarind pulp, 1 tsp lemon juice, Fresh coriander leaves (for garnish), Namakpara and sev (for garnish)

Heat up some desi ghee in a pan. Toss in cumin seeds, grated ginger, green chillies, and let them sizzle. Add your spices-turmeric, chilli powder, coriander powder, cumin powder - and let everything get nice and fragrant.

Now, throw in the chopped tomatoes. Season with salt and black salt, then add a little water. Cover it up and let it cook until the tomatoes soften.

In another pan, make a simple sugar syrup by dissolving the sugar in two cups of water.

Mash the boiled potatoes and mix them into the tomato mixture. Add the tamarind pulp, lemon juice, and fresh coriander for that zesty flavour kick.

Turn off the heat and plate the chaat. Drizzle the sugar syrup over it and finish off with a sprinkle of chaat masala, roasted cumin powder, and extra chilli if you like it spicy.
