Homemade Pizza Base Recipe With Whole Wheat Flour

2 cups whole wheat flour, 1 tsp yeast, 1 tsp sugar, ¾ cup warm water, 1 tbsp olive oil, ½ tsp salt.

In warm water, mix sugar and yeast. Let it sit for 10 minutes until frothy – this activates the yeast.

In a large bowl, combine flour and salt. Add yeast mixture and olive oil. Knead dough for 8–10 minutes until smooth and elastic

Cover dough with a damp cloth. Leave in a warm place for 1–1.5 hours, until doubled in size.

Punch down risen dough. Roll out into a circular or rectangular base about ½ cm thick.
