This winter, skip the usual tea and cosy up with a cup of Kashmiri Kahwa – a fragrant, spiced tea that's as soothing as it is delicious. Here's how to make it in just a few steps.

2.5 cups water
2-inch cinnamon stick
3 green cardamom
2 cloves
2 tbsp sugar
2 tsp green tea leaves
5-6 rose petals
4-5 sliced almonds
10-12 saffron strands

In a pan, pour 2.5 cups of water and add the cinnamon stick, cardamoms, and cloves. Bring it to a boil and let it simmer for about 5 mins to infuse spices.

Next, add sugar to taste. Switch off the heat, add green tea leaves, and cover the pan. Let it steep for 2-3 mins to soak up all the flavours.

Throw in the rose petals for that floral kick. Stir them gently and let the tea sit for a couple of minutes. The aroma will instantly lift your mood.

Pour the Kahwa into cups and top with sliced almonds and saffron strands. Give it a quick mix, and your homemade Kashmiri Kahwa is ready to enjoy!
