If you love eating Mysore Pak, you will also enjoy preparing this South Indian sweet at home. Only a handful of ingredients go into making this sweet. Find the simplified recipe here.

1 cup sugar, 1 cup water, 1 cup besan (chickpea flour), 2 cups ghee.

Sift the besan and keep it aside. Next, take a pan and add water. Add sugar and let it dissolve on low heat.

Once the sugar dissolves, increase the heat, bring it to a boil, and cook till it reaches a one-thread consistency.

Add 1 tbsp besan to the sugar mix and stir to mix well. Continue adding and stirring in the besan, one tablespoon at a time.

Similarly, add the ghee one tablespoon at a time, till all of it is transferred to the mix.

The colour and texture of the mix will change by now, becoming brown and crumbly.

Set in a thali, patting to level. Do not remove ghee that may float on top, pat it back. Cool, cut and your Mysore Pak is ready to be served.
