 Rice Dhokla

Give a twist to the traditional Dhokla and try this Rice Dhokla recipe. 


200 gm Rice Flour
30 gm Semolina
100 ml Curd
1 tsp Lemon Juice
Salt and Sugar to taste

1/2 tsp Mustard Seeds
2 whole Red Chillies
A pinch of Asafoetida
4 tsp Oil
Water as required

Step 1

Mix together rice flour, sooji, yogurt, sugar and oil in a bowl.

Step 2

Add water gradually in small quantities to make a smooth batter of dropping consistency.

Step 3

Add lemon juice, asafoetida and baking soda to the batter. Mix well.

Step 4

Pour the batter in a steamer and steam for 10-15 min. Remove, cool and cut dhokla into cubes.

Step 5

Heat oil in a pan and add mustard seeds, red pepper and curry leaves. When the seeds crackle, add 2 tbsp water. Boil and pour over the dhokla.
