Swiggy has been a lot in the news in recent times due to various reasons. The food delivery giant has announced several updates and new features in the past few weeks.

1. Seal Badge

Swiggy's 'Seal' badge indicates food quality standards, based on customer reviews/feedback. It's currently live in Pune and is being extended

The Seal badge will be featured on menu pages of restaurants with a “proven track record of serving hygienic, high-quality meals in quality packaging,” as per Swiggy.

2. Hike In Platform Fee

Just before Diwali 2024, Swiggy and Zomato announced a hike in their platform fee to Rs 10. It was met with a lot of criticism on social media.

In July 2024, the platform fee was increased to Rs 6. This fee is paid separately from the delivery fee, GST, restaurant charges, and handling charges.

3. 'Bolt' Service

Swiggy's 'Bolt' offering promises to deliver food in just 10 minutes, mainly meals from QSRs (quick service restaurants) and other outlets within a 2 km radius.

Customers can order dishes that require minimum preparation time such as burgers, beverages, breakfast items, as well as packed items like ice cream, sweets, and snacks.

4. International Logins

Swiggy unveiled a feature that allows users from 27 countries to access all the offerings on the Swiggy app using their international phone numbers.

Those living abroad can now order food, shop on Swiggy Instamart, and book tables through Swiggy Dineout for their loved ones residing in India.

5. Shopping List

Swiggy Instamart began piloting a 'Shopping List' feature. It's based on the practice of giving shopkeepers a readymade list of items needed.

As per reports, this Swiggy Instamart feature enables users to scan, write or say their entire shopping list and automatically build their cart.
