MODAK
1 cup Rice Flour
2 tbsp Cashewnuts
1/2 tsp Saffron
1/4 cup Coconut, grated
½ cup Gur
RICE FLOUR
1 tsp Khus Khus
2 tsp Ghee
1 tsp Salt
1/4 tsp Cardamom Powder
SPICES
In a saucepan, boil water. Add salt, ghee and rice flour. Mix well and let it rest for 10 mins.
STEP 1
Repeat the same process and add saffron to make saffron dough.
STEP 2
In a pan, roast khus khus and cashewnuts till they turn slightly brown.
STEP 3
Add grated coconut, gur and cardamom powder. Mix and let the gur melt.
STEP 4
Knead the rice flour mix into a soft dough. Take the dough and put it into modak mould.
STEP 5
Put stuffing in between and close the mould. Remove excess dough.
STEP 6
Repeat the same process for the saffron dough.
STEP 7
Steam the modaks for 15-20 minutes. Serve.
